Kiwanis Lake Rookery
Hi ! I'm Jacki and welcome to my gallery!
My love for photography first came from my father and the first camera he handed to me to use when I was a child. As a teen I developed a keen interest in photographing places I traveled to and scenes in and around my hometown of State College, PA. At Penn State I continued my photographic training as part of my Bachelor of Science degree in Art Ed. There I focused on teaching Black & White Photography and Darkroom in the classroom. My vision in my work also changed to observing and capturing color, patterns, texture, space and lighting in Black and White with a 35mm camera. Many years later I picked up my first Nikon DSLR camera and rekindled my love of photography. I was and still am mentored by Kern Little from Southwestern Pa. I have honed my skills over the last few years as I have learned this new digital medium. Most of my work now reflects the Miksang philosophy as well as recording my travels, events and my love for nature, animals and people. I continue to be inspired by nature and am constantly learning and refining my craft.
